What is naturopathy for and does it really work?

Today, we welcome Elsa in gest posteuse for a post on naturopathy, a field in which she specializes and, above all, for which she is passionate.

In this article, she explains what naturopathy is, and if you're interested in this topic, she may publish other posts on the subject!

Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself, my name is Elsa. I've been a nurse for several years, and I'm now training to become a NATUROPATHER.

My profession is little known. The name sounds good, but most of you have only a vague idea of what the practice entails. Being a naturopath doesn't just make me a great witch of plants and herbal teas, but above all a preventive and natural health therapist.

Naturopathy is a medicine based on natural healing processes. What could be more topical in these times of health insecurity? My mission is to provide the body with the best possible tools so that it can find the vital (immune) strength it needs.

I don't make medical diagnoses, as I'm not qualified to do so, but I do work closely with allopathic medicine (our current, traditional Western medicine). Naturopathy complements it.

My discipline consists of observing the individual as a whole, both psychologically and physically,
spiritual, social and environmental. Naturopathic treatment has been described as a form of medicine.
natural "holistic" approach. In other words, it considers the whole person. It focuses on
authenticity of being. There's no question of accompanying two people,
suffering from the same disorder, in the same way. Each person is unique.

We work with the central idea that the individual possesses his or her own inner strength, what we call "vital force". It's what gets you up in the morning and keeps you healthy. The body has the capacity to be its own therapist.

Naturopathy does not claim to cure, but rather to enable the individual to self-regulate. To achieve this, we carry out a real investigation. We question lifestyle habits, and study the capacity of the filtering organs (emunctories) to eliminate overloads, overloads which slow down the process of proper physiological functioning. This congestion can sometimes lead to serious clinical discomfort: chronic inflammation, digestive pain, headaches, etc.

Based on the initial assessment, we propose a naturopathic cure according to the individual's vital capacity. The two main cures are detoxification and revitalization. The first is designed to "cleanse" the kidneys, lungs, digestive organs, liver and skin. The second enables them to regain the energy they need to accomplish the preceding tasks.
